Intro to Shore Diving is where your spearfishing journey begins. Designed specifically for new divers, this three-hour guided shore session gives you the foundation, instruction, and confidence needed to start the right way. Rather than simply putting you in the water with a speargun, we slow things down and focus on the skills that matter most—understanding your equipment, becoming comfortable in the water, learning proper freediving technique, developing good buddy habits, and building a strong awareness of safety from the very beginning.

Once in the water, you’ll begin putting those skills into practice on the reefs and rocky coastline of Rincón. Your guide will work with you on fish identification, how to move quietly and efficiently through the water, how to approach fish, basic hunting strategy, and how to improve your chances of making a clean, successful shot. Because our beginner programs are limited to small groups, there is plenty of time for individual instruction, questions, and real-time feedback throughout the dive.

This course is also the foundation of our Zero to Spearo three-day program and is the ideal first step before progressing to reef and bluewater spearfishing. By the end of the session, you should leave with a much better understanding of the sport, greater confidence in the water, and a solid base of skills to continue building on.

This course includes a guide, photos and videos of your dive, and all necessary gear for shore diving.

We offer 3 courses daily at 7am, 10am and 1pm.
